How have I never seen The Innocents before? Like The Night of the Hunter only scarier. 

It was the 6th annual X Avant Experimental Music festival at the Music Gallery in Toronto last weekend, and I had the pleasure of seeing Contact perform one of my favourite pieces by Michael Gordon, the mind blowing (and numbing) Trance:

I also saw the Canadian premiere of Gordon's new percussion piece, Timber, performed entirely on 6 2x4 pieces of wood:

Gordon recently had the nerve to rewrite Beethoven's 7th symphony!

I am a Good Person, I am a Bad Person:

A.J. will be heading to Wilmington, North Carolina next month for the Cucalorus Film Festival, where Madame Perrault's Bluebeard will be screening in the programme Tortured Surface Shorts. A.J. will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening.

CANADA is a production company hailing from, curiously, Spain, that makes music videos (and commercials) distinguished by incredible complexity and frenetic dynamism. It's hard to fathom that the amount of work put into each video could possibly be realized on a normal music video budget. Check out the rest of their videos on Vimeo.
