Hot Docs has started a new documentary crowd-funding site called Doc Ignite and the first project looks intriguing:
Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing yet. A doc examining American cinema in the 70s: The entire film sped up to about to about 5 minutes in length: From the NY Times: In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad and How the US Lost Out on iPhone Work. Also, this slightly overwrought though none-the-less thought provoking excerpt from The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs on This American Life: The more I learn about the culture at Apple, the more I cringe (despite being a hopeless fanboy...). A doc playing at Sundance: "The conspiracy theories of ardent fans who are convinced they have decoded The Shining’s secret messages regarding genocide, government conspiracy, and the nightmare that we call history." Yes, please. |
