A.J. Bond is an award-winning filmmaker and storyteller with a background in acting and a bold sense of design. A.J. began his film career as a child actor before graduating from the UBC Film Program where he produced the breakthrough short, Why the Anderson Children Didn’t Come to Dinner (TIFF ’03). A.J. went on to produce several other successful short films with director Jamie Travis, including The Saddest Boy in the World (TIFF ’06) and The Patterns Trilogy (TIFF ’06). A.J. formed the production company The Siblings in 2006 with Amy Belling to produce his debut as a writer and director, the comedic time travel short Hirsute. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to play at over 50 film festivals around the world. Hirsute won 9 film festival prizes and was nominated for 7 Leo Awards. Most recently, A.J.released his award-winning first feature, the documentary-thriller Stress Position. A.J. has been invited to attend the Berlinale Talent Campus and TIFF's Talent Lab and Pitch This competition, and is currently developing his next feature film. |
